Last week saw a spectacle in the U.S. House of Representatives, as 20 Republican members held up Kevin McCarthy’s election to the Speaker position. The Democrats, corporate media, and leftist propagandists delighted in the Republican majority’s supposed fracture. This amounted to whistling past the graveyard.
By holding up the election in 15 rounds of votes, the 20 Republican patriots secured deals with McCarthy. They also flushed out duplicitous RINOs in government and so-called “conservative” media. In its second week, the new Congress is ready to recitfy the Democrats’ crimes of the last 7 to 8 years, as we shall see in the articles collected below.
Fox News- House passes new rules for Congress as McCarthy clears first major test as House speaker:
“The House of Representatives passed a new rules package Monday that overhauls the way it functions by putting up more barriers to congressional spending and creating a more deliberate process for passing legislation, which were key demands of the more conservative members of the Republican Party.
“The rules passed with an 220-213 vote that saw just one Republican, Rep. Tony Gonzales of Texas, vote against it. Passage of the blueprint for how the GOP will run the House is the first sign of success for House Speaker Kevin McCarthy after the fight of his life last week for the speaker’s gavel.”
“The newly adopted rules also include a provision that allows House Freedom Caucus members to receive three of the nine seats on the House Rules Committee, which dictates the terms of how bills are brought to the floor and how they can be amended.”
“The package also includes a return to a “Cut-As-You-Go” policy that says legislation cannot be considered if it increases mandatory spending over a 5- or 10-year period. This “CUTGO” policy requires bills that call for new spending to find offsetting spending cuts elsewhere in the federal budget – an ambitious new curb on federal spending, part of the GOP’s effort to stop piling on trillions of dollars in new debt each year.”

“The House of Representatives fulfilled Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s promise to prevent the Internal Revenue Service from hiring 87,000 new agents and conducting new audits on Americans by voting to rescind over $70 billion in funding to the agency Monday night.
“The Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act, sponsored by Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE), and Rep. Michelle Steel, (R-CA) passed by a vote of 221-210 and rescinds funding that could have been used to double the agency’s current size as well as conduct new audits on Americans.”
“Smith’s office said to Fox News regarding the score, “Congressional Democrats and the Biden administration have made clear that up to 90 percent of their new audits will target middle-class families and small businesses. This score again demonstrates the extent to which they are plundering working-class Americans in order to hand billions of dollars out to profitable businesses to buy electric trucks for their fleets, fuel for their airplanes, and install large-scale wind and solar across America’s landscapes.””

We need to have an Intel Committee that looks at what’s happening around the world and keeps America safe. It should do exactly what it was created [to do]—overseeing of our agencies and others. We’re going to hold people to a higher standard in the process if they want to be on the Intel Committee and the training to be a part of it. Take the politics out of it.””

“The Capitol Police have shut down legal requests for its communications and surveillance video on January 6, as was demonstrated by a Judicial Watch lawsuit.
“The Congress, which oversees the Capitol Police, claimed “sovereign immunity” as its authority to block releasing the footage. The House Democrats also claimed that releasing the footage is not in the “public interest,” nor is it a matter of “public record.””
