While Iowa Law Bans CRT In Campus Trainings, It’s Still Taught Inside The Classroom

While critics of bans on critical race theory in higher education have claimed such laws would prohibit professors’ academic freedom, one class at the University of Iowa illustrates scholars are still very free to teach students about the controversial topic.

Next fall, the University of Iowa will offer “Identity and Social Issues,” an English class that covers the transnational literature and postcolonial studies distributional requirement for the major. The course’s official page describes the class as based in “Critical Race Theory.”

Biden Under Fire For Saying Children Belong To Teachers While In School

“Resident” Joe Biden ‘s statement that children belong to their teachers while at school has drawn criticism from conservative activists, who are engaged in a major political battle across the country over parents’ rights in education.

“You’ve heard me say it many times about our children, but it’s true: They’re all our children,” the resident said in his remarks . “And the reason you’re the Teachers of the Year is because you recognize that. They’re not somebody else’s children; they’re like yours when they’re in the classroom.”

Mississippi Governor Signs Bill Banning Critical Race Theory In Public Schools

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves signed a bill into law on Monday making the state the latest to ban critical race theory in public schools .

“I know you’ll agree with me when I say that there is no room for this type of indoctrination in our state,” he continued. “[The bill] states that no student will be forced to affirm that ‘any sex, race, ethnicity, religion or national origin is inherently superior or inferior.'”

Disney Employees Slam Bob Chapek’s Remarks On ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Bill

Angry employees and artists who worked for Disney slammed CEO Bob Chapek on social media for not fully condemning Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill on Monday.

Late last week, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis defended the bill.
He said it wasn’t about discrimination, but instead is meant to ensure there’s no “sexual instruction” given to young students.
