The “mainstream” media, “corporate” media, “legacy” media, whatever you feel like calling it, is terminally ill. Only Democrats and neoconservatives latch onto it anymore, but it has been successfully discredited among the majority of Americans. Vice Media is going bankrupt, Fox is collapsing after terminating Tucker Carlson, and propagandist late night shows have withered away in ratings.
Corporate media hasn’t been profitable for several years, and was propped up by investor money. Some outlets were loss leaders for companies that make money from other divisions. Since the Federal Reserve started hiking interest rates, stocks have collapsed and the money is running out.
But more fundamentally, the Internet has empowered anyone with a laptop or smartphone to report the news, at a fraction of a percentage of the cost of the corporate outlets. Anyone with skill, talent, and cognitive function can succeed independently on YouTube, Rumble, and now Twitter.
Breitbart- Poll: 60% Say Establishment Media to Blame for Misinformation: “Six out of ten Americans say the establishment media are to blame for misinformation, an Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights poll revealed Monday.”
“Only 16 percent say they are very confident that the media report the news fully and fairly. Forty-five percent told the pollster they have little to no confidence at all.”
“Recent polling shows 79 percent of Americans say former President Donald Trump would have won reelection in 2020 if Hunter’s laptop had been known to voters. Seventy-one percent of Americans believe accurate reporting of Hunter’s laptop could have altered the 2020 presidential election.”
The Post Millennial- Vice Preparing To File For Bankruptcy: “Vice Media, the edgy and woke digital media company once valued at $5.7 billion, is reportedly preparing to file for bankruptcy in the coming weeks, according to sources familiar with the matter.”
“Last week, Vice closed its global reporting initiative, Vice World News, which was seen as a departure from the company’s gonzo journalism roots.”
The Gateway Pundit- FOX News Primetime Ratings In COMPLETE COLLAPSE Following Tucker’s Exit: “On Monday FOX News announced they were parting ways with their top-rated cable news host. By Wednesday FOX News had lost NEARLY HALF of their audience at Tucker’s 8 PM time slot. Tucker was averaging 3.2 million viewers. On Tuesday FOX News had only 1.7 million viewers at 8 PM.”
“And by Friday FOX News audience sunk to 1.33 million viewers at 8 PM down from 3 million just one week ago. But the damage was not just to Kilmeade and the 8 PM slot. Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Jesse Watters also saw a significant decline in just one week!”
American Thinker- Leak Campaign Against Tucker Carlson Begins With A Misfire That Damages Fox, Not Carlson: “A scorched earth campaign against Tucker Carlson has been anticipated, and the first leak of behind-the-scenes video has dropped, fed to Soros-funded Media Matters, which long has been trying to get both Carlson and Fox News silenced.
“Someone with access to the video feed from Tucker Carlson’s home studios has leaked a video that he must have expected to be damaging to the former top-rated host, but which really damages the streaming video service, Fox Nation. If Carlson is to be blamed, it would be for being frank and honest in a private conversation.”
Deadline- Late-Night Shows To Shut Down Immediately After Writers Guild Strike Called: “Nightly talk shows including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, are set to go dark starting on Tuesday after writers agreed to strike.”
“Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Daily Show, which had correspondent Dulcé Sloan host this week, also will be hit. The Late Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show and Late Night will officially be in re-runs now, waiting on what Comedy Central will do with The Daily Show.“
“One of the issues in this year’s negotiation between the writers guild and the studios is also, in fact, surrounding late-night shows on streaming. As it stands, writers who work on “comedy variety programs made for new media,” such as Peacock’s The Amber Ruffin Show, do not qualify for MBA minimums, something the WGA has been fighting for.”
CoinTelegraph- Elon Musk Introduces Twitter Monetization Avenues For Content Creators: “Ever since Musk’s takeover of Twitter, the company has taken several drastic measures to turn itself into a profitable business, including mass layoffs and the introduction of Twitter Blue subscriptions. While many previously verified individuals resisted the ask for a monthly fee to get a blue checkmark on Twitter, Musk saw it as a much-needed revenue stream for the company.”
“The latest user-centric revamp — which allows users to monetize all forms of posts on Twitter globally — is targeted at improving follower engagement and creating new revenue streams on the social media platform.”
“The “Subscriptions” feature allows Twitter users to charge followers a monthly price “from one of the price points made available by Twitter.” Once paid, the subscribers access exclusive content from the creator that is unviewable to the general public.”
