Meditation is common in most martial arts schools. It is a practice that helps one understand their own thoughts and habits, and leads them to use their skills responsibly. In my own training, meditation has helped me think on my feet, and not worry about unexpected problems. When you’re in tune with your center, you know what to do in a situation, and anxiety goes away.

In this video by World Of Martial Arts Television, instructor Steve Rowe explains that meditation helps us understand our thought patterns and let go of emotional pain. Many martial arts students have been victimized in the past and don’t want to go through it again. In these times of social upheaval and political confusion, it would help to examine our thoughts so we can find solutions.
